The core classes such as English, History, and Science are separate by grade’s and based on the state standards for that grade curriculum.
In order to meet the needs of all students a math block is offered. All math instruction takes place at the same time. Students are tested at the beginning of the school year and placed in the appropriate math level. The levels go from basic math to geometry.
Students have the opportunity to choose “exposure” classes through which they may explore in a limited setting, their interest in or skill/aptitude for such areas as woodworking, digital photography, game design, home economics including needlework and cooking, journalism, instrumental music, art, aerobics, stop motion animation, drama, web design, and more.
Students are introduced to foreign language with Sign Language or Spanish classes which prepare them for further study in high school.
